Got a Minute    clok

It's hard to practice silence when there are bulldozers shuddering and shaking all day and every day. I would get to a place of stillness for a moment and then a great tremble would shake the house, radiating through my bones and driving me out and away from the building. It was difficult and intrusive but it had the effect of reminding me of what vibrations can do.

There is a Universal Law which governs sound. It states that every living substance has it's own harmonic note, whether it is animal, vegetable, mineral, atmosphere, planets or galaxies. As humans we vibrate this note from our beings, through our voice and thoughts. But' it is the overtone, the sound beyond the sound. The unheard part of sound which gives the final effect. It can cause disharmony in the overtone of the harmonic whole and if we break the harmonic note we also break the form and lose vitality and cohesion.

So when we are bombarded by sound or by the overtone we can be damaged. The disharmony this can cause to the human body can manifest in many ways but one thing is certain, serious stress reactions and disturbances will occur including disturbances of the bodys metabolism. My desire to get out, to escape the deep almost soundless thrumming of the earthmovers, was therefore my wholebeing warning me of danger.

Mantra Yoga says that the 'Science of Sound' is a natural phenomenon to every form of life and that if we can discover our personal harmonic note we can balance ourselves by regularly sounding this note.Once this note is maintained in its true form we can begin the task of raising its vibration to a higher octave. This will then raise our vibrations above disease, lack or disharmony. We then become aware of higher states and open to greater understanding, considering this, it is easy to see the value of practicing the silence. So this time see if you can, in the silence of' your being, hear your personal note.
